Koolies Nose Truffle Dogs

Koolies Nose has been operating truffle hunting services since 2015. All our dog and handler teams undertake 12 months intensive training complemented with a season working alongside our seasoned dog and handlers to hone both the skills of the dogs and the humans.

Our dog handling teams, currently 4 in Victoria, are proficient in identifying T. Melanosprum and T. Borchii. One of our dogs has also undergone T. magnatum training and to date has yet to identify any on farm. Koolies Nose also offers training (out of season) for farmers and their dogs either face-to-face or via Whatsapp at a pace that suits the individual and their companion.

Canine Truffle Hunt & Training

Simone, owner of Canine Truffle Hunting and Training, and her Belgian Shepard's, Kovu and Zara, have been providing a truffle hunting service since 2018 for Victorian truffières. We have found the first truffles for numerous farms with highly motivated dogs and have returned to hunt every year since.

During the off season, Canine Truffle Hunting and Training offers a one-on-one truffle dog training course including theory, course work and on site practical. With a strong passion for dog training, we love to help farms discover the locations of their black gold or work with owners and their dogs to develop a strong truffle hunting team

Scent Shepherds

Our award-winning Shepherds are highly trained scent detection dogs and obedience triallers. Our two teams are located in the Victorian high country and NSW Northern Tablelands.

The Shepherds are incredibly attentive with a strong work ethic and are trained to find Summer and Winter Truffle.
